Well, it’s been a while since I’ve posted on my blog. I’m sorry it’s been so long, moving in June, new job and new life have definitely put me off track. However, it’s time to get myself back out here and do what I love most. Write about beauty and fashion.
I thought I would start by listing my 5 favorite picks for the new year. After moving from NY to Florida my haircare routine had to take a dramatic change. Going from seasonal changes to a tropical climate can be a challenge. However, I think I finally nailed down a couple of hair care products that will keep my mane in tack.
Alterna Bamboo Anti-Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner – This combo really works wonders. I have very fine hair, however even my hair can get frizzy, and curl in all the wrong places. This helps keep my hair smooth and of course it’s free of parabens and sulfate.
Phyto Subtil Elixir – I use this amazing oil at least twice a week. It creates smooth locks and keeps my hair healthy and shiny. Although it’s pricey, a little goes a long way since my hair is short and fine. I just rub it through my locks at night, put my hair in a bun and sleep through the night. A definite must have for keeping your hair in shape and protecting it from being dry.
Drybar Hot Toddy Heat Protector and Frizz fighter This is a must have before drying your hair. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical because of the price. I felt they marked it up because it came from Drybar (an amazing blow dry bar!). However, I fell in love. And the smell is so incredible, very delicate and clean. It it a cream, so be careful not to use too much.
Bumble and Bumble Pret a powder – WOW.. This is an amazing dry shampoo and style extender all in one. It provides amazing volume, and doesn’t try out your hair at all. I have to admit, I use it after my first blow out to give it some texture and this small bottle has gone a long way.
Drybar The Sheriff Firm Hold Spray – Finally, to keep it all together this hairspray is amazing. It really holds my hair and at the same time somehow acts as a humidity repellent. Again, pricy.. And I did receive it as a sample. But, I’m in love and sold.
So, there you go. This is how I was able to transform my locks from frizz to glam. It took some practice over the past 6 months and the products are not cheap. However, I know how to make them last. Remember my tips, never wash your hair everyday and when you do, make sure you’re starting out with squeaky clean hair! I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts and what works for you. I’m always changing it up, I’m kicking off the new year with these products.
When it comes to styling your hair there are so many different options out there to choose from. Many times, it try and try again before you find the perfect match for your hair type and length.
However, with today’s technology that hunt and deliver experience has become so much easier. Many options today are designed for all hair types and have built in settings that you can customize for your perfect look.
List below are my favorites, most are under $100 with the exception of a good hairdryer. This is an investment that you want to make. You want to make sure it has a “cool” button setting, with at least 3 different options for heat. A fast and slow setting is just as important. This will ensure you getting the best results for the money you spend.
When choosing any of these tools, you always want to look at reviews and ensure it lives up to it’s name. You want a dryer that will dry your hair fast, but will not burn it out at the same time. You want a curling or straightening tool that has actual heat settings so you can set it to work with your hair type (lower settings for fine hair, higher settings for thick coarse hair).
Always make sure you are buying from a company or site that will allow you to return the product within a certain timeframe if it simply isn’t working out for you. Sephora is the best, they will allow you to return just about anything in any amount of time. The last problem you want to have is an expensive styling tool that just doesn’t work for you.
So, here are my top 5 picks for 2015. I’m really interested to see if you agree or if you have options that work better for you. It’s amazing how many choices are out there with technology that is a phenomenal!

A professional-quality heated round brush designed to give you beautiful, “just back from the salon” style. Use it to smooth, direct, lift, volumes, and curl hair like a pro!Maria McCool created the Perfecter with Fusion Heat: ceramic and ionic technology combined to infuse hair with body and shine. Its sturdy bristles glide through hair and protect hands and scalp from heat.
Who is it for: All hair types: thin to thick, straight to curly, fine to coarse. Choose the 1″ barrel if you have short hair and the 1-1/2″ barrel if you have medium to long hair.
Why is it different: With a wider heat range and a digital setting for added ease of use, this Perfecter gives you an even better styling experience. Soft Touch grip allows for a more secure hold, while dual inside heaters produce quick, even heat for professional results.
How do I use it: Use on dry hair only. Plug in and hold the On/Off button for about three seconds to turn it on. If your hair is fine or over-processed, choose a lower temperature setting; coarse or heavy hair will need a higher setting. The LCD will blink until your desired temperature is reached (takes approximately three minutes).

Perforated barrel allows air flow, decreasing overall drying time. NanoIonic™ minerals condition, reduce frizz/flyaways, and help remove odors. Ceramic brush adds noticeable luster and shine. Nonslip grip handle and incredibly lightweight.
The Perfect Rose Palate
I thought I was in love with the Naked 2 Palate, until Naked 3 came out. I usually like to stick to neutral brown colors, however in the Winter when my skin tone is more on the lighter side this was the perfect switch for me. These shades match my complexion so nicely, and I love playing around with the different shades. Mixing and matching them up is so easy, because they all blend so well together. You can go dramatic for a night out, or create the perfect day look. They also provided me with different eye shadow primer samples to mix it up with.
So, far I have to admit I like the following shades the best:
Put them together and you one amazing look!
So, if you’re a true fan of the Urban Decay eye shadows, and want to try a new look for the Winter I highly suggest that this is the palate for you. Absolutely worth the money when you have so many choices to work with. I really love their products, and this is one you should have as a staple in your make up collection.
Hello my friends, it has been so long since I’ve posted to you all. I was extremely busy with the holidays, and somehow got locked out of my account when I upgraded my phone to the new iPhone 5C.
Anyway, I so happy to be back and I have a lot to share with you all. I’ve done a lot of shopping and received so many amazing gifts for Christmas. The best part of the new year is that I have been upgraded to Sephora’s VIP Rouge status. Yes, I have spent at least $1000.00 in one year on makeup. I don’t know whether I should be proud, or in need of a therapist for my shopping addiction! However, I do have to say being a Rouge member has amazing perks:
1. Free shipping on any order I place.
2. Free annual gifts, which are a surprise and I’m anxiously awaiting mine.
3. Upgraded birthday gifts and special promotions.
4. My own 24 hour concierge hotline, so I can call at anytime to ask anything I want about a particular product.
5. Free beauty makeover’s by appointment. Which, I haven’t tried. However, I will be definitely doing one soon and letting you all know the results.
I’ve also been so inspired by Vlogger’s lately that I even upgraded my Roku to the 3rd generation so I can watch YouTube on my big screen. So, I will definitely be posting some tricks and tips I learn from the masters of beauty. I have a feeling it’s going to be a very exciting year for me and I’m really looking forward to sharing some of my amazing finds with you. I have a list of items I can’t wait to share, from new perfumes to my favorite winter booties.
Stay tuned, the fun is about to begin again.
Sunday’s are made for being lazy and casual. This outfit for me, is about that. Whether you’re heading out to run some errands or just going to a friend’s house to watch some sports, you will be comfortable and trendy at the same time. I love the sweatshirt with the leather trim sleeves, paired with skinny jeans and a fun backpack. Add some deep purple eye shadow shades to blend nicely with the black and gray tones.
Thanks to Victoria Secret, this is on my wish list for this month!
